A Celebration of Black Joy joins the Wilmington Ballet’s presentation Deep Roots a celebration of African American Arts & Culture being presented at the Milton Theatre.

Featuring Jea Street, Jr, vocals | Nadjah Nicole, vocals | Kim Graham, storyteller | TBA, keys | Mike Boone, bass | Jonathan Whitney, drums and musical director. Celebration of Black Joy celebrates the joy that can be found in the lives of people of color throughout their history in America through storytelling and music. The joy found at churches, BBQs, weddings, births, chance meetings on the street, within children at play, and yes, even home going services, has served as Black America’s greatest protest.
